Swans and Geese

I had been told that the Canada Geese had returned a few weeks ago. But today was the first time I had seen Egyptian Geese. A pair of swans had appeared soon after our arrival, but they didn't seem to stick close to the lake.
For a brief period the Egyptian Geese today seemed to to staking out the high ground. Someone has told me they are not true geese at all but a variety of duck.
