An Egyptian Goose Drops In

It was in 2013, before we had moved in, that we last saw Egyptian Geese at Ruston House.
Today, shortly before 12:50, I saw a lone example on the recently cleared island, just beyond the Duck House.
As I took pictures of it through the patio door it constantly moved away from the house and I thought it was about to launch itself into the water but instead, rather than that, it took off and flew towards me passing to my left.
