Bubmble Bee on a Thistle

Fed up with the number of hurried blurry photographs I have been taking for the blog I thought it time that I tried to get some pictures of things that I could reliably focus on, so this afternoon I wandered round the grounds and found some bees at work on the thistles near the house.
Not being an expert on bees I don't know what kind they are but suspect they are nothing special. All that amazes me is that they seemed to enjoy the thistles, a plant I always thought would not be an especially comfortable plant to work on.
Now, of course, I wish that I had waited until I got a picture of the head end, but what will be will be!
