The Cabin is Furnished

After the stove had been fitted it became the priority to furnish the cabin. One of the options was to use the loft above the veranda to use as sleeping space. However, that would have required some work to fit a balustrade and a simple bed/settee was ordered. What you see on this page was the status of the cabin on 7 December 2021.
The clock over the veranda doors was a present. It seemed well suited to its place over the veranda doors.
Later we decided the dining table and chairs blocked easy access to the loft so it was moved to the corner near the side door.
The rug helps to give a more homely feel with its pattern echoing the reed you see around the lake.
The empty far corner was intended to be for a small galley area, but we haven't yet resolved the design for that.
It's a dull day, but this is the view users of the cabin can expect. The cottage owners had recently had the bank to the left of the scene stripped of its reed hence it looks rather black.
