A Muntjac slowly Approaches the House
Posted: 3 April 2020
If my camera clock is to be believed, it was a second after 08:19 when I took the first picture of a deer near the bridge.
It's not unknown to see a deer in full sun but certainly unusual.
59 seconds later and constantly browsing it's slowly moving towards the house.
And following a further 26 seconds, it's closer still.
At 08:20:52 it seems less content with the grass it finds and spends less time in any place.
And, finally, breaks into a trot, but still coming towards the house!
Then it runs up the bank to the "High Road" where it slows down but, surprisingly, continues towards the house...
...making its way as far as the path that the swans use to cross from the dyke to the lake, where it jumps the dyke...
... and is last seen running across our neighbour's field.
